Keeping with our end of month weekend getaway theme, David and I spent the last weekend of August in Warrnambool together.
The weather was atrocious with up to 100km winds sweeping through the little coastal city.
But that didn't deter us from spending another weekend away together.
On the first night, after a 3+ hour drive we settled in with dinner from Sammy the Seal Kabab shop and watched Melbourne Storm play their away game.
That Saturday morning we enjoyed a light sleep in before I got up and made us some yummy waffles.
David and I explored a bit of Warrnambool before checking in to our pre purchased 2 hour Deep Blue Hot Springs Experience.
I had never seen or heard of hot springs before and absolutely enjoyed the experience with David. With open aired rock pools, sensory caves and cleansing waterfalls it was so relaxing soaking in the therapeutic waters naturally rich in minerals and heat.
I'd highly recommend this place and will again visit on future trips to warrnambool.
Feeling all relaxed David and I headed back to our cabin for a movie and ordered in!
Sunday we went to the local RSL for lunch, we rated the meals on Google Maps and played the pokies for a little bit with the left over money we bought on our trip.
Being that we were so close to the beach we went back down to the pier for a few clicks to keep of our experience. The day was windy and freezing cold but here's what we got..
Sunday night we dressed up for a night at the local theatre where Davids fave band The Wolfe Brothers were playing.
I have to say, sitting down during a concert was a first for me and that didn't last too long. I couldn't help but go down and dance beside the stage with the boys.
Overall, while I cant say enough how aweful the weather was, we had an amazing time together. I love this man so much and I'm enjoying these times we are making with and for each other to enjoy.
Last Thoughts/ Recommendations
Melissa - I enjoyed so much from our trip, White sheets, extra pillows, sleep ins, homemade waffles for breakfast, watching our teams win, snuggling, enjoying our fave movies, enjoying lunch together, ocean views, cheap Dominos deals, his arms around me, being held, feeling so loved. I didn't so much love the Wild weather on the one weekend of the month we opted to go away, 90+ km wind gusts, hail, waves bigger than the cabin we stayed in, a freezing cold plunge pool and really crappy service from Red Rooster. but the extra night, The Wolfe Brothers concert, dressing up, high heels on, hair up, hair down, photos in the mirror, feeling pretty, arm in arm, singing, dancing and just enjoying life with the man that I love made up for all the negatives. Would recommend this as a dating destination!
David - I enjoyed the wild weather and the way the waves were coming over the wall. I loved watching the wolfe brothers but don't think they should have had their concert in a theatre. Highlight of our weekend was the Hot Springs. Would recommend and would go back again.
